The cozy couple: natural cheese and olive oil from Europe” is the new promotional project of the Portuguese Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Câmara de Comércio e Indústria Luso Japonesa (CCILJ) English: Portuguese Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Japanese: 日本ポルトガル商工会議所 is a civil non- profit association established in 1971, with the purpose of facilitating and promoting trade, industrial and financial relations between Portugal and Japan, as well as developing a spirit of solidarity and reciprocal support among its members.

It currently has approximately 129 associate members from the most varied sectors and business areas from the Portuguese, Japanese and international business communities in Portugal and Japan. The food sector is one of the most important and representative of the CCILJ which includes among its members 65% of cheese Portuguese producers even 78% of Olive Oil. The role of the CCIJL, as well as and the co-funding of the European Union, are indispensable triggers to offer new opportunities and business prospects even to the smallest and least structured companies, which in Portugal represent the vast majority of these products of excellence.

The main objectives of CCILJ are to:

  • Contribute to the internationalization of Portuguese companies and increase the number of exports to Japan through various initiatives
  • Collaborate in the promotion of Portuguese investments in Japan and help attract Japanese investments to Portugal
  • Promote and disseminate the services and products of its members in Japan and Portugal
  • Develop and maintain a network of excellence, enabling the creation of good commercial relations between Portuguese and Japanese companies
  • Develop various actions with its members, which promote and facilitate their entry or consolidation in the Japanese market.
